STATEMENT |

BIOGRAPHY Christophe De Jaeger (Belgium, 1979) is an art historian specialising in Photography and New Media Art. He is the curator and organiser of the annual International Photo Festival in Belgium. As freelance curator his main interest lies in the area of New Media Art. In 2006 he founded the organisation De Inventie which organises exhibitions with New Media Art. In 2007 he curated the exhibition Artes Digitales for the Buda Art Centre (Belgium), which gave a comprehensive overview of the works of contemporary Belgian artists working with New Media. In 2008 he constructed together with different Belgian artists the dancing temple Odette on the Belgian coast, based on drawings of Theo Van Doesburg. The same year he was invited by the Telic Art Gallery in Los Angeles to organise a screening of Belgian digital art. In 2009 he curated the exhibition Fantastic Illusions for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai and the Electronic Arts Festival. Currently he is following a MRes in Arts and Technology at the University of Plymouth (GB). |
